Concerns may include: trying to quit smoking/using tobacco/vaping, strategies to quit, managing addiction, smoking-related health issues, risks of smoking/tobacco use/vaping.
Alcohol and Other Drug Education
In an effort to support student wellness, the Alcohol and Other Drug Education program strives to provide SUNY Oswego students with the tools to navigate AOD use, perceptions and the social landscape of the college environment. We provide students with accurate information regarding AOD use, intervention and referral, educational trainings and AOD prevention/harm reduction programming.
The resources of the Counseling Services Center (CSC) are offered free of charge to registered SUNY Oswego students. Counseling center staff offer individual and group counseling, as well as couples counseling when deemed appropriate after an initial consultation.
We focus on student needs in a variety of ways. Providing programs and services that support healthy choices, supporting students in transition, and fostering a community of mutual respect and integrity so that students can be successful. We work with students, faculty and staff to encourage students to actively engage in and contribute to the vitality that is our campus life.
Some of the services that we provide are Preferred Name Change, Medical Leave of Absence, Withdrawals, Student Emergency Fund
Health Services promotes the health and wellness of students so that they can be successful in their academic pursuits, personal lives and be able to make positive personal health choices and decisions.
