Concerns may include: thinking you would do better in your courses if you had a tutor, wondering if a tutor is available for your course(s), questions about how often you can utilize a tutor, questions about other sources of academic support.
The Tutoring Center provides drop-in and appointment-based tutoring in the arts, business, humanities, modern languages, and social sciences. Tutors in this center can provide assistance with study skills, outlining, vocabulary, time management, textbook use, quiz/exam practice, presentation feedback, content review, computer applications and much more.
The Advisement Center helps students transition from high school and other institutions to the SUNY Oswego community. Even before you start your first semester we are by your side providing academic advising and introducing you to campus-wide resources, services, and experiences that will help you thrive academically and socially.
The mission of the Office of Learning Services is to provide supplemental tutoring in a comfortable and caring environment. We work to promote intellectual integrity, honesty, independence, and confidence by helping students to develop academic skills and methods. It is our hope that students will use these skills as they advance through their academic, professional and personal endeavors.
The Writing Center provides free writing assistance for SUNY Oswego students across the disciplines. Our tutors are committed to help students throughout the various stages of the writing process, including understanding writing assignments, getting started on papers by brainstorming and outlining, and revising drafts. The Writing Center is NOT an editing service. Therefore, students will come prepared to discuss their writing prompts and papers in a collaborative and welcoming atmosphere.
